Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring moisturising product found within the body which contributes to the healthy appearance of the skin. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid within the skin diminishes which can lead to an increase in the development of fine lines and wrinkles.

The provision of dermal fillers as a facial aesthetic treatment helps to replace the lost volume of the skin which results in a reduction of lines and wrinkles and leads to a more youthful and radiant appearance.   They can also be used to contour and enhance the lips and cheekbones.

Before treatment with dermal fillers, Kathryn uses the placement of a local anaesthetic to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible during the facial aesthetics procedure. This will either involve placing a cream that numbs the surface of the skin or for more complete anaesthesia, by using local anaesthetic similar to the administration of a dental injection.  Kathryn will work with you to make sure that she operates within your comfort level which means that you can relax whilst she provides your facial enhancement treatment.

The effects of a skin plumping treatment can last between 6 and 8 months depending on individual circumstances

 

Dermal fillers may be a suitable treatment for you if:

  •  There are lines that run downwards from the corners of your mouth and give a sad appearance to your face

  •  You have lines that pass from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth

  •  You have small lines all the way around your lips

  •  You wish to increase the volume or ‘pout’ of your lips

  •  You wish to have more prominent cheekbones

  •  There are hollows underneath your eyes

Our Lip Augmentation treatments are usually carried out with the administration of local anaesthetic as the lips are a very sensitive area and we like to maximise the comfort of our clients.  The effect of the anaesthetic will wear off after a few hours.
